A period of 15 months of learning, designing and releasing parkjet designs with mid mounted motor, has been delivering us joy we've never experienced before. Specially our latest design, the SU-35 G2, which brought us excitements of experiencing the flight envelope of a storebought rc plane yet it maintains its agility compares to the rest of our mid mounted motor designs. So, we encouraged ourselves to set a new challenge for us to meet, using EDF engines which will surely require us to rethink on how we design and validate the model, before we go into constructing the prototype. Our friend Eric Robinson had successfully converted our mid mounted motor F-16C design into an EDF plane which flew beautifully. Further, we decided to design something similar, and we came up with the idea of selecting the Eurofighter Typhoon, as our first experimental EDF parkjet design. We hope we could learn even more from this project, in order to find and address efficient ways to design EDF parkjets in the future. We also got huge help from our good friends James Soyak and Eric Robinson, as we need their feedbacks and knowledge to make this project happen. Frankly speaking, three of us don't posses any knowledge in using EDF engine on any of our parkjets. Our biggest challenge was time. As you see 3 of us and 2 of our friends are living in different time zones, so all communications were established using emails. That would require each of us to wait for hours for just an answer. However, we're grateful that since all of us share the same excitements, it went well and we have just finished the design. So, here are the computer rendered images of the Eurofighter Typhoon, we completed in Rhinoceros 5.0 using HP Zbook 14 G1 (discontinued product) and HP Zbook Studio G3. Click any image below to enlarge it. More pictures, comparing 3d model we finished as a reference and a pic we downloaded from the internet. 3d design validation had been completed. So, the next phase is to generate the plan from the 3d parkjet model so it would become a valid layout for us all to build. Updates on Feb 19,2017: Added inner structures for canopy. EDF, thrust tube and battery placement can been viewed inside the fuselage. Updates on Feb 20, 2017: Plan has been finalized. This has been the slowest development of all design as this is the first EDF design we've ever developed. It will be printed soon. Some of us already have 70mm EDF in hands but some others may have to wait until their orders arrive on their door steps. Feel free to post your feedbacks below.

Hahaha! Let's make that happen, Jeff :) Eventhough we're in such extremely tight schedules with our daily things other than RC, hope we could complete this project together, just as our previous designs. And on top of everything, we're enjoying the process :D

Looking great Bimo!! I do have some 70mm, 12 bladed EDFs laying around so I should be ready to go :)

Awesome Eric! I just need to place reinforcement rods on the design and we could start generating the panels layout for the final plan. :) So excited here!

Heeey Steeeve! Good to have you visited our website. Hope all is good with you buddy. Yes, we're trying to learn more on things in this hobby. This would be our very first ground up EDF design. Very excited about it as it inherits the fuselage technique we obtained in designing the SU-35 G2. Stay tuned, Steve ;)
