PI A-10 Thunderbolt II G1R: Unexpectedly Delivers Groundbreaking Result

With the earlier announcement of the Parkflyers International A-10 Thunderbolt II Project, we received many responses and support from many people around the world, encouraging us to finish the project and make the plan available should it comes to the final stage. However, we were even very curious of the upcoming results when bringing the design scale down as an rc parkjet.
We obtained some technical data of the real A-10 Thunderbolt II available on the web, such as angle of incidence of the wings, horizontal stabilizers and even the thrust line. Then we carefully tried to apply them to this nearly 1,000mm parkjet design. The challenge appeared to be greater when we tried to convert the thrust line of dual engines into a single rear mounted engine which theoretically equals to the resultant thrust line of the 2 engines.

To keep the story short, we finally constructed 3 prototypes (which followed by another 2 larger ones at 105% scale by Jeff and Jim). Stunning unexpected results were verified after we made 3 successful maiden flight on those 3 prototypes. We were so stunned on how well they behaved when airborne. Such killer looking parkjet design that is able to fly slow and fast, effortlessly. Considering it carries linear constant cord with tapered outer wing design, the flight envelope is just unbelievable.

Please stay tuned for further updates.

Are you ever going to release the A10 Plans?

Hi Charles. Hope all is well with you my friend.

We're currently having some changes for the wing support/inner structures so it will have more strength and rigidity. Current design is quite rigid but if it's not built properly, it has the chance that it will give issues.

Stay tuned my friend. We're finalizing the F-15 Silent Eagle too :)
